About This Role

St. Charles Community College is seeking a part-time Police Dispatcher to answer dispatch phones, emergency calls, and multiple radios, dispatching Police Officers and DPS Officers on calls for service. This role involves monitoring alarms and CCTV, maintaining logs, assisting with copy center requests, and providing customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the DPS dispatch phone, emergency phones, and multiple radios
  • Dispatch Police Officers and DPS Officers on calls for service
  • Utilize the emergency public address system and text message notification system
  • Monitor panic, burglar, and fire alarms, and CCTV video equipment
  • Maintain logs and information to prepare reports as required
  • Assist with copy center requests
  • Perform customer service for all walk-in customers (students, vendors, instructors, and parents)
  • Dispatch Maintenance, Grounds, and Housekeeping staff on urgent requests
  • Provide support to all Police Officers and DPS/Police Supervisors
  • Use the ITI records management system and CAD system to maintain records and enter calls for service

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Nice to Have

  • Prior dispatching or law enforcement agency experience
