Plow/Salt Truck Driver

About This Role

This role involves safely and efficiently providing snow removal and ice management services. The driver will operate plow and salt trucks on-call, overnight, and part-time as needed, meeting or exceeding client and management standards.

Responsibilities

• Load equipment and supplies onto trucks and secure them
• Maintain and correctly use personal protective equipment
• Remove snow using a snowplow and heavy equipment for extended periods
• Perform snow removal and ice management tasks on properties
• Operate equipment safely while wearing personal protective equipment
• Unload equipment from trucks and wash equipment and truck
• Be available nights, weekends, and holidays for snow removal and ice management
• Drive plow and lead team as needed
• Assist the crew as needed

Requirements

• Valid Chauffeur's License (by offer date)
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical (includes a Drug Test)
• Minimum 1 year snowplow experience in a professional setting
• Ability to operate various snow removal machines, shovel, and salt spreader
• Ability to operate various vehicles, with or without trailers
• Ability to safely perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscaping equipment and materials
• Ability to safely operate hand and power equipment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk up to 10 miles a day, sometimes uphill and on uneven terrain
• Ability to bend and kneel up to 9 hours or more a day
• Ability to work hours that vary and may exceed 12 hours per day
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, precipitation)

Qualifications

• MINIMUM 1 YEAR SNOWPLOW experience IN A PROFESSIONAL SETTING

• Ability to leverage and use Snow Blowers and Salt Spreaders
