About This Role

The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of plant operations, including safety, production, maintenance, and continuous improvement, for a well-established manufacturing organization. This role involves leading daily plant operations, aligning plant-level goals with broader business strategies, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are consistently met.
  • Drive labor efficiency, on-time delivery, and performance metrics across shifts.
  • Serve as the primary owner of OSHA compliance and plant safety initiatives.
  • Coach and develop supervisors and high-potential employees for future leadership roles.
  • Lead and sustain Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Use data and KPIs to drive decisions and operational improvements.
  • Partner with engineering and maintenance to increase equipment efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop and implement structured training programs and cross-training systems.
  • Represent the plant in strategic discussions and performance reviews with executive leadership.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and servant leadership throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing a manufacturing plant or large-scale operation.
  • Demonstrated leadership of hourly teams in a high-performance plant environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing KPIs, labor efficiency, and cost control.
  • Prior role on a Senior Leadership Team or equivalent high-level leadership group.
  • Direct experience with OSHA compliance, audits, and safety culture development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Hands-on leadership style with consistent presence on the plant floor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience managing a manufacturing plant or large-scale operation, with demonstrated leadership of hourly teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Tier I or II automotive manufacturing or similarly demanding environments.
  • Track record of building training programs, skills development systems, and CI frameworks.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and modern production planning tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
