Direct and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and P&L, to ensure manufacturing objectives are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving
- Coordinate plant activities with departmental managers to achieve manufacturing objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Develop and control profits, plans, and budget
- Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries
- Manage capital asset maintenance
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards
- Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or adjust when necessary
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives
- Promote safety and health awareness and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years plant management experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field OR five years plant/general management experience including LEAN in a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of LEAN tools to teach, create, implement, and sustain in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to coach, mentor, develop, and lead team members
- Experience and ability to run a P&L manufacturing business
- Ability to motivate a workforce including performance management, recruiting, retention and engagement
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Technically proficient to troubleshoot mechanical and chemical upsets
- Ability to ensure safety, environmental and health concerns are addressed efficiently and effectively
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or five years plant/general management experience including LEAN in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 5-7 years plant management experience
