Pickup Lead

About This Role

The Pickup Lead provides direction and support for department operations, focusing on customer experience and team development. This role involves planning, guiding, and empowering team members to achieve departmental goals and uphold company standards.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide exceptional shopping and checkout experiences for customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily work tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Support training new team members and cross-training high potential talent.
• Work with leadership on department schedule writing.
• Ensure freshness of products by monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
• Lead team members to ensure ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display are completed.
• Actively create an environment that supports the Meijer culture, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
• Operate powered equipment, where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to help achieve goals.
• May be required to act in Lead capacity in other departments throughout the store.
