About This Role

This Physician Assistant role involves collaborating with medical staff to provide comprehensive care for outpatient clinic patients, focusing on primary and urgent medical management. The position contributes to medical education and ensures compliance with healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with medical staff, including residents, fellows, and attendings, to provide care for outpatient clinic patients.
  • Work under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical and nursing care.
  • Assume responsibility for primary and urgent medical management.
  • Perform emergency stabilization of critically ill patients.
  • Provide teaching to residents and medical students.
  • Contribute to staff development and education, patient education, and discharge planning.
  • Utilize approved medical practices in the delivery of patient care.
  • Provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria.
  • Maintain an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program
  • License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice
  • NCCPA Certified
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice
  • Computer skills for data entry and retrieval
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications and specific software
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
  • None officially required; 3 years related working experience preferred.

  • 3 Years’ Related Working Experience

Certifications

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (Required) NCCPA Certified (Required)
