Physician Assistant

About This Role

This Physician Assistant role involves providing primary and urgent care to patients, with a focus on establishing and growing a primary care practice, while ensuring high-quality care and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and review patient histories, identifying abnormal conditions
• Perform physical examinations and evaluate patients’ symptoms to determine the best course of treatment
• Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine
• Monitor patients’ progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events
• Document patients’ medical information and maintains patient charts
• Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options
• Communicate regularly with other healthcare providers to ensure that all aspects of care are being addressed
• Perform data entry tasks to document patient records within facility databases and maintaining patient files
• Participate in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices
• Ensure compliance with legal issues including patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations

Requirements

• Active Tennessee Physician Assistant License
• One to three years’ experience in Urgent Care, ER, or Workers Comp setting or equivalent experience
• Current CPR Certification
