Hackensack Meridian Health is looking for a collaborative Physician Advisor to join its leadership team, focusing on optimizing health care service utilization. This role involves working with the Chief Medical Officer and Care Management Department to ensure efficient and effective healthcare delivery, driving clinical excellence, and shaping healthcare systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Care Management team to optimize resource utilization and patient care
- Ensure compliance with payer regulations and medical necessity criteria (e.g., MCG, InterQual)
- Conduct utilization reviews and manage denials/appeals
- Collaborate with physicians and staff to promote appropriate utilization of hospital services
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and utilization committees
- Educate medical staff on utilization guidelines and documentation best practices
Requirements
- Unrestricted medical license in New Jersey
- Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Proven ability to drive results and produce outcomes
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience.
Nice to Have
- Board Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP)
- Membership in the American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA)
