About This Role

This role involves collecting and processing blood and other specimens, ensuring accurate patient identification and proper labeling, and efficiently handling specimens for subsequent testing within a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and process blood and other specimens as directed
  • Confirm patient ID for proper specimen collection
  • Collect specimens in proper tubes utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques
  • Accurately label specimens to ensure accurate patient results
  • Process specimens appropriately for subsequent testing
  • Accession, update information, and make corrections to orders as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • None for Tech I; 3+ months phlebotomy experience for Tech II

Nice to Have

  • 6 months phlebotomy experience OR 1 year related experience (Phlebotomy Support Tech I)
  • 6 months phlebotomy experience (Phlebotomy Support Tech II)
