Phlebotomist

About This Role

As a Phlebotomist, you will perform expert blood collection and specimen processing for patient diagnoses and treatment, ensuring high-level patient care and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Expertly obtain and process blood specimens via capillary or venipuncture
• Ensure integrity, proper disposal, and timely distribution of specimens to testing areas
• Perform clerical duties and prioritize patient comfort during blood work
• Practice positive patient identification at all times
• Adhere to lab collection turnaround times and follow blood collection procedures
• Perform Blood Bank collections following written procedures and banding
• Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations, and storage rooms
• Practice HumanKindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions
• Establish and maintain good communication within the department and with other hospital departments
• Comply with isolation and hand sanitization procedures

Qualifications

• High School Graduate General Studies or High School GED General Studies

Nice to Have

• 3 months phlebotomy experience in an acute care facility
