Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in providing patient care and pharmacy services in accordance with state and federal regulations, while delivering a distinctive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues.
• Enter patient and drug information, fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, and verify medication.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist and adhere to Quality Improvement Program procedures.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policy during prescription dispensing activities.
• Register sales on the cash register and handle cash as required.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services.
• Assist and support the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities.

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB or ExCPT certification
