Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

This role involves processing prescriptions and assisting the pharmacist to ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing, while also handling general merchandise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Verify that prescription information is complete and accurate
• Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, measure, and sometimes mix medication
• Prepare prescription labels, select container types, and affix labels
• Price and file prescriptions, ensuring review by a Pharmacist before dispensing
• Establish and maintain patient profiles and prepare insurance claim forms
• Stock and take inventory of prescription medications
• Refer all prescription, drug information, or health matters to a Pharmacist
• Scan merchandise on the register
• Stock merchandise on the shelves
