About This Role

This Full-Time Pharmacy Technician role supports pharmacists in preparing medications for long-term care communities by accurately filling orders, operating automated packaging systems, and performing quality assurance checks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist(s) on duty as their primary responsibility
  • Fill orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • Develop knowledge of pharmacy policies and procedures and comply with them
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pharmacy automated packaging systems
  • Manage inventory, restock meds, monitor system usage, and recommend items/formulary adjustment
  • Perform quality assurance checks on medication strips and correct any machine or user errors
  • Organize medication strips in clients’ communities according to their specifications
  • Monitor and maintain consumables for automated packaging systems
  • Meet daily deadlines of scheduled medication deliveries

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling and commercial arithmetic
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions
  • General computer knowledge including Windows applications
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a flexible schedule as operational needs dictate, including nights, weekends, and holiday

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Entry level

Nice to Have

  • Minimum one year pharmacy experience
