About This Role

Join a closed-door pharmacy team in a non-retail environment, meeting the pharmaceutical needs of long-term care and senior living clients. Deliver exceptional service and high-quality care to make a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Fill prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards
  • Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels
  • Participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy
  • Check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from inventory
  • Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction
  • Assist in the training of new employees
  • Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room (if applicable)
  • Manage inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identify expired medications (if applicable)

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Ability to recognize and identify medications
  • Detail oriented
  • Goal oriented
  • Team player
  • Effective oral communication
  • Pharmacy Technician license

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting and with medical terminology

Nice to Have

  • Long Term Care pharmacy experience
