About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients and customers with prescription fulfillment and providing caring service, while ensuring safe and accurate operations following SOPs. This role plays a critical part in helping people navigate healthcare and improving access and lowering costs within Retail locations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
  • Assist patients and customers to deliver an exceptional experience
  • Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations through consistent application of SOPs and effective communication
  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
  • Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and as directed by the pharmacy leadership team
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics), where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification

Requirements

  • Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people, notice and understand patients' reactions
  • Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication, utilize active listening
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems like determining tablet count, day's supply
  • Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if state board does not mandate
  • Entry level

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
