Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within a CVS Health retail store. This role involves assisting patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly and accurately, and contributing to a safe and inclusive pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care while serving patients
• Complete basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and be willing to travel to other stores in the market as needed
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Deliver additional patient healthcare services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowable by law and supported by training

Requirements

• Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy
• If no state board age mandate, must be at least 16 years of age
• If no state board education mandate, must have high school diploma or equivalent or be actively enrolled

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
