As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support the retail pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients and customers, and ensuring smooth, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment. You will live the company's purpose by following SOPs to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic, and voluntarily traveling to stores
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies and procedures
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics), where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
Requirements
- Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
- At least 16 years of age if no state board minimum age requirement
- High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school/equivalency program if no state board educational requirement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
