About This Role

This role supports the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients and customers, filling prescriptions promptly and accurately, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Execute pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (e.g., production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing caring service, including offering immunizations and other services.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and be willing to travel to other stores in the market if needed.
  • Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics) where allowable by law.
  • Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status, if permissible, to support preparing and administering vaccines.
  • Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty.

Requirements

  • Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age.
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program.
  • Ability to complete required company training program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time and pivot quickly.
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety.
  • Active customer service and team orientation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use math for problem-solving (e.g., determining dosage, day's supply).
  • Ability to identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose appropriate actions.
  • Ability to be mobile, remain upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag items, reach overhead, and perform repetitive finger movements.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum educational requirement.

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
