Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and providing caring service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
• Keep patients healthy by offering immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone
• Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and as directed by the pharmacy leadership team
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
• Support immunizations, including preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies (where permissible)

Requirements

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice (age, education, licensure/certification)
• At least 16 years of age (if no state board minimum age)
• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in a high school or equivalency program (if no state board educational requirement)
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
• Attention and Focus: ability to concentrate, pivot quickly between tasks, and confirm prescription information accuracy
• Customer Service and Team Orientation: ability to help people in a friendly manner, understand patient reactions
• Communication Skills: use and understand verbal/written communication, active listening
• Mathematical Reasoning: ability to use math for prescription calculations
• Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
• Entry level position, previous experience 1-3 years preferred but not required

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in home store and cross-market locations
