Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence to patients, ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment and an exceptional customer experience. This role supports the overall mission of simplifying health care for individuals and communities.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments
• Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and as directed by the pharmacy leadership team
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Comply with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, controlled substance compliance, and patient privacy
• Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing
• Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer patients to the Pharmacist-on-duty for questions

Requirements

• Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy
• Minimum age of 16 years (if not addressed by state board of pharmacy)
• High school diploma or equivalent (if not addressed by state board of pharmacy)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
• Entry level with 0-3 years preferred experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a related setting.

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
