Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in a retail setting by delivering operational and service excellence, ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, and providing compassionate service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Support the pharmacy team to consistently deliver on our brand promise
• Assist patients and customers as the first point of contact to deliver an exceptional experience
• Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, including prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (i.e., production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off)
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
• Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics)
• Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines
• Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer patients to the Pharmacist-on-duty for vaccination questions
• Monitor and manage vaccine supplies

Requirements

• Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to, age, education, and licensure/certification
• At least 16 years of age (if state board does not mandate minimum age)
• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program (if state board does not mandate minimum education)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations
