Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients with prescription fulfillment, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. This role focuses on customer service, accurate prescription management, and contributing to a safe and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing personalized moments at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
- Complete basic inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership, such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic, and traveling to other stores as needed
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, and CVS policies and procedures
- Deliver additional patient healthcare services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by training and certification
Requirements
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
- If no state mandate, must be at least 16 years of age
- If no state mandate, must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be actively enrolled in high school
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Attention and Focus: ability to concentrate and pivot tasks quickly, confirm prescription info and label accuracy
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively help people, notice and understand patient reactions
- Communication Skills: use and understand verbal/written communication, active listening
- Mathematical Reasoning: ability to use math for prescription calculations
- Physical Demands: mobile, remain upright, lift/scan/bag, reach overhead, repetitive finger movement, bend, close visual acuity
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
