About This Role

As a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, ensuring prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment. You will be a first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a compassionate health experience.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Execute pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care at pick-up, drive-thru, over the phone, and by offering immunizations and other services.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership, such as putting away medication deliveries and conducting cycle counts.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback, seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic, and traveling to other stores as needed.
  • Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics, where allowable by law and with required training.
  • Support immunizations by completing licensure and training, educating patients about vaccines, monitoring adverse reactions, reviewing and collecting patient information, and managing vaccine supplies.

Requirements

  • Ability to comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • If state board of pharmacy does not mandate age, must be at least 16 years of age.
  • If state board of pharmacy does not mandate education, must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be actively enrolled.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum educational requirement.

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
