Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in a retail setting by delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations for accurate prescription fulfillment and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments, and offering immunizations
• Complete basic inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and seeking opportunities to expand knowledge
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and be available to travel to other stores as needed
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles, as well as CVS policies and procedures
• Deliver additional patient healthcare services where allowable by law and supported by training/certification
• Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status
• Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty

Requirements

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
• Entry level, 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
