Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients and customers with prescription fulfillment, ensuring safe and accurate service, and contributing to a positive team environment through consistent application of SOPs and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and by solving or escalating patient problems
• Complete basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Deliver additional patient health care services, where allowable by law and supported by training and certification (e.g., immunizations)
• Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status, where permissible
• Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer patients to the Pharmacist-on-duty for vaccination questions

Requirements

• Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age and licensure/certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum educational requirement

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
