This role supports pharmacy teams, ensuring smooth operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceptional patient experiences within CVS Health retail locations. Pharmacy Technicians act as the first point of contact for patients, providing caring service and contributing to a safe and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
- Assist patients and customers as the first point of contact to deliver an exceptional experience
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
- Complete basic inventory activities as directed by leadership (e.g., putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts)
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
Requirements
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice
- Be at least 16 years of age (if state board does not mandate minimum age)
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required company training within designated timeframe
- Attention and focus to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly
- Customer service and team orientation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations
- Ability to resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing, lifting, reaching, and close visual acuity
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program (if state board does not mandate educational requirement)
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
