This role supports the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceptional patient experiences by acting as the first point of contact for patients and customers.
Responsibilities
- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
- Assist patients and customers as the first point of contact, providing exceptional experience
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, including prompt, safe, and accurate prescription filling
- Follow company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
- Apply pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and resolving/escalating patient problems
- Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, such as putting away medication deliveries and cycle counts
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek feedback to expand knowledge
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and be willing to travel to other stores as needed
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
Requirements
- Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
- Active customer service and team orientation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical reasoning ability to solve problems like determining tablets to dispense
- Ability to identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag items, and reach overhead
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum educational requirement
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
