Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within a retail store by assisting patients, filling prescriptions promptly and accurately, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing compassionate care and contributing to a safe, inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, creating personalized moments, and offering immunizations and other services.
• Complete basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and managing returns.
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and expand clinical and technical knowledge.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including working shifts at other market locations as needed.
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
• Deliver additional patient health care services like immunizations and point-of-care testing where legally permissible and supported by training.

Requirements

• Comply with all state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
• If state board does not mandate minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age
• If state board does not mandate minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Ability to complete required company training program within designated timeframe

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program (if not mandated by state board)

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
