About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients with prescription fulfillment and providing caring service. Technicians are integral in maintaining safe and effective pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
  • Keep patients healthy by offering immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone, and solving or escalating patient problems
  • Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and as directed by the pharmacy leadership team, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback; actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
  • Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, including CVS policies and procedures
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics), where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
  • Support immunizations, including completing additional licensure and training, educating patients about vaccines, monitoring and responding to adverse reactions, and reviewing/collecting patient information

Requirements

  • Compliance with all state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program (if state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum educational requirement)

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
