About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in a retail setting by delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients, and ensuring prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment. Contribute to a positive patient experience through compassionate care and efficient service.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to assist Pharmacists in patient health management
  • Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
  • Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone to keep patients healthy
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by the pharmacy leadership team (e.g., putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks)
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
  • Comply with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, controlled substance compliance, and patient privacy
  • Deliver additional patient healthcare services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, offsite clinics) where allowable by law and with required training/certification
  • Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines

Requirements

  • Comply with all state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice (age, education, licensure/certification)
  • Attention and focus to tasks and patient needs
  • Customer service and team orientation
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations
  • Problem resolution skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or equivalency program if not mandated by state board of pharmacy

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in home store and other market locations to meet business needs
