About This Role

The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, acting as the first point of contact for patients and customers. This role involves ensuring smooth pharmacy operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and providing caring service.

Responsibilities

  • Follow company Standard Operating Procedures at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by the pharmacy leadership team
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
  • Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
  • Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification

Requirements

  • Compliance with all state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy
  • Be at least 16 years of age if no state minimum age is mandated
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in a high school or equivalency program if no state minimum education is mandated
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate, pivot tasks, and confirm prescription accuracy

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
