Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

This Pharmacy Technician role supports the pharmacy team in serving patients and customers, ensuring smooth operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceptional service. The technician will be the first point of contact for patients and contribute to patient health.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Assist patients by offering immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone.
• Resolve or escalate patient problems with compassionate care.
• Complete basic inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership, such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts.
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback.
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other stores as needed.
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
• Deliver additional patient healthcare services where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
• Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines, if permissible.

Requirements

• Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
