Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

This Pharmacy Technician role supports the pharmacy team in a retail setting, ensuring smooth operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceptional patient service. The role focuses on delivering caring and efficient healthcare experiences to customers.

Responsibilities

• Follow company SOPs at each workstation to assist Pharmacists in managing and improving patient health
• Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing personalized service at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
• Offer immunizations and other services to patients at the register and over the phone
• Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic while potentially traveling to other stores as needed
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, including CVS policies and procedures
• Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing), where allowable by law and with required training and certification

Requirements

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification
• If no state minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school/equivalency program, if not mandated by state board

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in home store and across market in other locations to meet business needs
