Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer experiences and contributing to patient health.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to assist Pharmacists in managing patient health
- Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, creating personalized moments, and solving or escalating patient problems
- Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by leadership, such as putting away medication deliveries and performing cycle counts
- Embrace a growth mindset, be receptive to feedback, and actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic, including traveling to other stores as needed
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, as well as CVS policies and procedures
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and with required training/certification
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines (where permissible)
- Educate patients about vaccines, refer questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, and monitor/report adverse reactions (where permissible)
- Review, collect, track, and document patient information, and monitor/manage vaccine supplies (where permissible)
Requirements
- Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
- If state board of pharmacy does not mandate minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age
- If state board of pharmacy does not mandate minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school/equivalency program (if not mandated by state board of pharmacy)
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in home store and other market locations to meet business needs
