Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceptional patient care. This role involves assisting patients, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store
• Assist patients and customers as the first point of contact, delivering an exceptional experience
• Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and patient prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
• Operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
• Contribute to safe and effective operations of the pharmacy, following all company SOPs at each workstation
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating heartfelt and personalized moments
• Complete basic inventory activities (as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership), such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics), where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification

Requirements

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
• At least 16 years of age (if state board does not mandate minimum)
• High school diploma or equivalent or active enrollment in high school/equivalency program (if state board does not mandate minimum)
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Ability to complete required onboarding training within designated timeframe

Qualifications

• high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
