Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in a retail setting by ensuring smooth operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceptional patient experiences while adhering to all company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone
• Offer immunizations and other services to patients at the register and over the phone
• Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, and returns-to-stocks
• Actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to other stores as needed
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards
• Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing), where allowed by law and supported by training

Requirements

• Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
• If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum educational requirement

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs
