About This Role

Support the pharmacy team in a retail setting by delivering operational and service excellence, assisting patients, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. This role is critical in helping to fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and by offering immunizations and other services
  • Complete basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback
  • Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
  • Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, voluntarily staffing offsite clinics) where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
  • Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines (where permissible)
  • Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer patients to the Pharmacist-on-duty for vaccination questions (where permissible)

Requirements

  • Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
  • Must be at least 16 years of age if the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
