As a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, ensuring prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment, and providing exceptional customer service. You will contribute to a safe and inclusive culture, helping to simplify healthcare for individuals and communities.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at various workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off)
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and by offering immunizations and other services
- Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, including putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset and being receptive to feedback
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
- Deliver additional patient healthcare services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing), where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty
Requirements
- Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
- Ability to complete required company training within designated timeframe
- Attention and Focus (ability to concentrate, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy)
- Customer Service and Team Orientation (helpful, friendly, understanding patient reactions)
- Communication Skills (verbal and written interaction, active listening)
- Mathematical Reasoning (ability to use math for dispensing calculations)
- Physical ability to stand, lift, scan, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive finger movements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program (if not mandated otherwise by state board)
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations
