As a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store. You will assist patients and customers, ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, and contribute to a caring service experience.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Offer immunizations and other services, and demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
- Comply with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, compliance with controlled substance dispensing, and patient privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, offsite clinics) where allowable by law.
- Support immunizations, including completing additional licensure and training, educating patients about vaccines, monitoring and responding to adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies.
Requirements
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
- If no state minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age
- If no state minimum education, must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be actively enrolled in high school/equivalency program
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations
