About This Role

This role supports the pharmacy team in a retail setting by ensuring smooth operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceptional patient experiences. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be the first point of contact for patients, helping to navigate healthcare and deliver compassionate service.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
  • Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and as directed by the pharmacy leadership team
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
  • Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
  • Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics), where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
  • Support immunizations by completing additional licensure and training requirements and educating patients about vaccines
  • Review and collect patient information, track and document for each applicable patient; monitor and manage vaccine supplies

Requirements

  • Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy
  • At least 16 years of age if state board does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner, and understand patients’ reactions
  • Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues, utilize active listening
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems such as determining total number of tablets to dispense
  • Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag items, reach overhead, stoop to a considerable degree
  • Ability to consistently lift and/or exert a negligible amount of force to move objects

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program if state board of pharmacy does not mandate a minimum educational requirement

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs
