Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

As a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, you will deliver operational and service excellence within the pharmacy team. You will support patient care by ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment and providing exceptional customer service. This role is critical in helping transform healthcare accessibility and improving patient health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within assigned store locations.
• Assist patients and customers as the first point of contact, providing an exceptional experience.
• Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, including prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments with patients.
• Complete basic inventory activities as directed by the pharmacy leadership team, such as putting away medication deliveries and performing cycle counts.
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
• Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by training.
• Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines, where permissible.

Requirements

• Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs
