This role supports the pharmacy team in a retail setting, ensuring smooth operations, accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceptional patient service. You will act as the first point of contact for patients and customers, contributing to a safe and inclusive pharmacy culture.
Responsibilities
- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
- Assist patients and customers as the first point of contact for an exceptional experience
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication
- Demonstrate genuine care and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture in all interactions
- Complete a rigorous company training program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and creating personalized moments
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and be willing to travel to other stores as needed
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowable by law and with required training
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty (if immunizer status is obtained)
Requirements
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
- If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age
- If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
- Entry level with a preference for 1-3 years of pharmacy technician experience
Nice to Have
- 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs
