Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

This role involves providing exceptional phone-based customer service to patients, managing their medication profiles, and acting as a liaison with medical professionals. The Pharmacy Technician will navigate multiple softwre systems to support various stages of patient care providing quality pharmacy services.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in a phone-based environment
• Answer high volume of inbound calls from current patients and resolve their questions
• Place outbound calls to patients to create, maintain, or update medication profiles
• Effectively assist with patient questions over the phone
• Problem solve patient care issues by working through current case queues
• Serve as a liaison between clinical pharmacists and other medical professionals on patients' behalf
• Perform claim adjudication and auditing duties including prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks
• Collect on patient balances when patient has an amount due
• Maintain patient records with strong attention to detail and confidentiality
• Utilize sound drug knowledge to effectively receive prescription authorizations, clarifications, or transfers
• Accurately retrieve all prescription information and verify through doctor calls
• Enter a high volume of data; processing prescription information with speed and accuracy
• Place welcome calls to newly on-boarded patients and establish a trusted point of contact
• Partner with technicians and pharmacists to ensure successful patient on-boarding
• Perform in a high volume, fast paced environment to support a nationwide patient base

Requirements

• Must be 18+ years of age
• High school diploma /GED
• Prior experience in a pharmacy setting
• Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA) and maintain a current certificate
• Must maintain a pharmacy technician registration with State Board of Pharmacy
• Ability to perform in an office-based (or remote) setting that requires sitting at a desk 90% of the time
