As a Pharmacy Technician at Cleveland Clinic, you will provide essential distributive pharmacy services in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. This role involves preparing and compounding prescriptions, managing inventory, and assisting pharmacists to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting
- Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients
- Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy
- Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items
- Operate the point-of-sale cash register system
- Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products
- Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Six months of related experience OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)
- Active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Six months of related experience OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program
