This Personal Banker role provides professional customer service, assists with various banking needs including account opening and maintenance, and performs teller functions while ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Consistently demonstrate professionalism and genuine courtesy with every customer interaction
- Actively participate in one on ones with management and in group meetings
- Support all areas of the branch, other branches, and the bank when needed
- Assist customer needs in all channels including the teller line, branch lobby, online, email, by mail and by phone
- Take ownership of and help resolve all customer issues and complaints
- Proactively engage customers in comprehensive financial conversations and introduce products and services to meet their needs
- Assist customers in opening deposit accounts, safe deposit boxes and IRAs according to company procedures
- Responsible for closing accounts, initiating wire transfer requests, issuing and replacing debit cards, ordering checks, assisting with fraud disputes, helping customers with online and mobile banking and various other account maintenance requests
- Timely clear any account exceptions
- Perform bank teller functions including cashing checks, making deposits and withdrawals, accepting loan payments, processing night drop and mail deposits, handling commercial currency exchanges and issuing cashier’s checks, money orders and temporary checks
- Assist with ordering branch currency, processing branch currency shipments and balancing vaults, devices, coin machines and teller drawers
- Follow all bank policies and procedures and comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Open and close bank branch according to security procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and sound judgment
- Excellent communication skills to include listening, speaking, and writing in all situations
- Ability to discern and effectively manage difficult or emotional customer situations
- Ability to inspire the trust of others, while working confidentially, ethically, respectfully, and with integrity
- Knowledge of safety and security procedures, reporting potentially unsafe conditions quickly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Previous banking, teller, and customer service experience preferred.
