Perishables Rep

About This Role

As a Perishable Representative, you will ensure a well-stocked and well-maintained department, providing superior customer service while preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products. This role requires adherence to all department and food safety/sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service by taking orders and assisting with selections
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily
• Slice, package, label, and rotate products
• Scan items using Telxon for production
• Effectively merchandise product and use suggestive selling techniques to build department sales
• Make regular announcements related to freshly-produced items
• Clean and sanitize display cases; properly operate and maintain equipment
• Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards and departmental SOPs
• Perform department-specific tasks such as cutting/trimming meat, designing floral arrangements, or stocking produce

Requirements

• Minimum age 18
• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Commitment to work hard and focus on customer service
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Reading and writing skills
• Planning and organizing skills
