Per Diem Pharmacy Technician II

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions, maintaining customer service, and handling sales transactions. This role supports the efficient operation of the pharmacy by managing stock, processing requisitions, and engaging with customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law
• Maintain good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers
• Achieve customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions
• Stock and price over the counter (OTC) items
• Maintain the OTC areas
• Process clinic medication requisitions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• TSBP Registration
• 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience Or Completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
• Ability to read merchandise labels and invoices
• Ability to ask and answer questions over the phone
• Ability to write information on prescriptions
• Ability to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problems
• Ability to type 20 WPM
• Ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions
• Math cash handling abilities (add, subtract, make changes, complete daily cash report)
• Stress Tolerance
• Physical stamina
• Ability to travel to multiple pharmacy locations
• Driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience Or Completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program

Nice to Have

• PTCB Certification
• HMO and 3rd party managed care experience
• Know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist
• 10 key by touch
