Pediatric Nurse

About This Role

Provide skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in their homes, following care plans and physician orders, while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders
• Observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes to supervisor or physician
• Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and responses in a timely manner
• Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans
• Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes
• Recognize changes in patient needs and implement care to prevent or reduce risk
• Comply with Aveanna policies, state/federal regulations, and Nurse Practice Act
• Provide care utilizing infection control measures according to OSHA standards
• Educate patients and families on disease process, self-care, and prevention
• Maintain knowledge and competencies through educational programs and skill evaluations

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
• TB skin test (current within last 12 months)
• Pediatrics experience
• Reliable transportation
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
• Pediatrics experience required, six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required.

Nice to Have

• Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
• Home health experience
