This Payroll Auditor position involves reviewing and conducting audits of employer payroll records to verify accurate benefit contributions as outlined in collective bargaining agreements. The role requires analyzing findings, noting variances, and creating detailed audit summaries.
Responsibilities
- Understand union benefit contribution requirements as outlined in collective bargaining agreements
- Plan and conduct reviews at employer sites, including periodic travel outside the tri-state region
- Review payroll records and compare them against benefit fund filings to verify accurate contributions
- Analyze findings, note any variances, and create detailed audit summaries using Excel
- Manage audit assignments with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and professional standards
Requirements
- Access to dependable transportation
- Comfortable working a hybrid schedule after completing training
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to evaluate information, identify issues, and make sound decisions
- Legal work authorization in the United States
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience in bookkeeping or payroll
- Entry-level, previous experience working with payroll data or bookkeeping records is beneficial
