This role will provide strategic and operational leadership across all plant functions to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production within a high-volume food manufacturing environment. The Director of Plant Operations will oversee P&L responsibilities and ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Implement departmental policies, objectives, goals, and organize officials and staff members
- Coordinate businesses or departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales or distribution of products
- Oversee and drive operational excellence across manufacturing, warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory control, purchasing, facilities, and maintenance
- Direct daily production activities, workforce utilization, and workflow optimization to achieve output, quality, and service targets
- Lead supply chain operations including procurement, inventory management, production planning, and distribution
- Monitor businesses and agencies to make sure services are provided within budgetary limits
- Ensure that all employees adhere to GMPs
- Oversee daily operations in food manufacturing, ensuring compliance with CGMP and food safety standards
- Manage budgeting and cost control processes, utilizing accounting software for financial reporting
- Oversee the physical plant, including HVAC, water, mechanical, electrical, utilities, and grounds, ensuring safe and reliable operations
- Minimize downtime through proactive maintenance, asset management, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory and industry standards including OSHA, GMPs, HACCP, and SQF
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of hands-on leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and process-development skills with a proven ability to build and execute operational systems
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and ERP systems
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- P&L responsibilities
- Food Safety knowledge
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- BA in Business, Management, Engineering or related field
- Minimum of five years of hands-on leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
